Day 1 - Arrival in Tbilisi

Sightseeing tour of Tbilisi:
Avlabar, one of the oldest districts of Tbilisi,
Cathedral of the Holy Trinity - Tsminda Sameba, a symbol of modern Georgia and the highest temple in the country.
The Pantheon on Mount Mtatsminda (climbing the funicular), where many of the famous writers, artists, scientists and national heroes of Georgia are buried, St. David's Church “Mamadaviti” (XIX century), here lived St. David of Gareja in the VI century;
Anchiskhati Church (VI century) - the Church of the Nativity of the Virgin, is one of the oldest buildings and the oldest surviving temples in Tbilisi. The temple was named Anchiskhati after 1664 in honor of the miraculous icon of the Savior (Anchia Spas), which was transferred here from South Georgia, saving from the Turks;
Sioni Cathedral (XII century) - until 2006 it was the Cathedral of Georgia. It is named Zion in honor of the Assumption Temple on Mount Zion in Jerusalem, the cross of St. Nino is kept here;
Metekhi, the historical district of Tbilisi, where the monument to Vakhtang Gorgasal and the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin (XIII-XVI centuries) are now located. The first Georgian martyr, Queen Shushanika Ranskaya, who was killed by her fire-worshiper husband in the 5th century AD, is buried under the vaults of the temple.

Day 2-Mtskheta

Departure to Mtskheta-Mtianeti and Imereti

Mtskheta: Jvari Monastery and the Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross of the 7th century. According to legend, at this place in the cave lived St. Nina, who asked the Lord for a source of healing water. After the Baptism of Georgia, a wooden cross was erected here by Saints Nina and Tsar Mirian as a sign of the triumph of Orthodoxy, revered as miraculous and given the name of this place;

Monastery of St. Nina Samtavro (IV-XI centuries) - in the temple there are many shrines, part of the life-giving pillar, the miraculous icon of the Iberian Mother of God, the miraculous icon of St. Nina, the grave of the holy kings Mirian and Nana, the relics of St. Abibos Nekressky, the relics of St. Shio Mgvim, part of the stone from the grave of St. Nina of Bodbe and others;

Svetitskhoveli Cathedral (11th century) - built on the site of the first Christian church in Georgia in the 4th century, which was erected over the grave of St. Sidonia. Sidonia died with the Chiton of the Lord in her hands and was buried with him. A cedar grew over the grave of Sidonia, from which a pillar was cut down for the construction of the temple. The pillar miraculously established itself on the site of the future temple and began to myrrh. The temple was called “Svetitskhoveli”, which means “Life-giving pillar” in Georgian.

Bagrat Temple (X - XI centuries)
A visit to the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin - one of the largest temples in Georgia and one of the most important in its historical role; Annunciation Cathedral (XIX century), Lower and Upper Temples of St. George

Gelati Monastery (XII - XIII centuries) is an outstanding monument of Georgian architecture, the center of spiritual and scientific life of the Middle Ages, the tomb of Georgian kings, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary, mosaics and frescoes of the XII-XVIII centuries, the church of St. Nicholas the Wonderworker and the Church of St. George the Victorious (XIII century).

Motsamet Monastery (11th century) - the monastery of Saints David and Constantine, built on the site where Muslim invaders executed the Georgian princes David and Konstantin Mkheidze, who refused to convert to Islam. The ark with the relics of the Saints is located in the main temple of the monastery.

Day 4 - Borjomi

Departure to Samtskhe-Dzhvaneti.

Borjomi resort city, one of the pearls of Georgia. The resort is famous for its mineral water and clean mountain air, a walk around the city, a visit to the source of the world famous mineral water;

Ubis Monastery (XI - XII centuries) - the Church of St. George, painting of the XIV century. One of the most favorite temples of Queen Tamara, the cultural center of western Georgia.

Transfer to Tbilisi.

Day 5 - Kakheti

Departure to Kakheti, Alazani Valley
Ikalto (VI - XIII centuries) - a monastery complex, one of the oldest in Georgia, the Holy Trinity Church, the Church of the Holy Spirit (VI century), the Church of the Assumption of the Virgin (XII-XIII centuries), academy;
Alaverdi Monastery (VI - c.) - The monastery was founded in the VI century, by Joseph Alaverdi, one of the founders of monasticism in Georgia, the Cathedral of St. George was built on the site of a small church of the same name in the 11th century .;
Gremi is an architectural monument of the 16th century, the ancient capital of the Kakheti kingdom, the Church of the Archangels Michael and Gabriel.

Day 6 - Kakheti

Continuation of travel in Kakheti.

The Nekresi monastery complex is a unique place for several reasons at once. Firstly, it was from here that Christianity began to spread throughout Georgia. Secondly, the oldest church in the country is located in Nekresi. And thirdly, from the top of the mountain on which the monastery stands, a stunning view of the Alazani Valley opens.

Sighnaghi - the city of lovers, in the city House of Weddings you can get married at any time of the day. The city has preserved fortified walls, lined with watchtowers, which you can climb to enjoy magnificent views of the Alazani Valley.

Bodbe Monastery (IX - XIX centuries) - In Bodbe there is a holy spring that appeared at the place where Saint Nina prayed. Pilgrims have the opportunity to swim in the holy spring.

Ninotsminda (VI century) - the monastery complex was one of the most important spiritual and educational centers of Kakheti, the church of St. Nino.
