Snowdrifts in Bakhmaro village reached 4 meters

Snowfall hit the mountainous village of Bakhmaro in the Guria region, snowdrifts reach about 4 meters, local residents report.

Eyewitness photographs show how snowdrifts blocked the doors and windows of residential buildings. Citizens demand from the authorities to start clearing the snow. Some complain that the snow has damaged the front porches and surrounding infrastructure.

Due to heavy snowfall the other day there were problems with power supply in all regions of the region - Ozurgeti, Lanchkhuti and Chokhatauri. Part of the population is already receiving light.

According to the energy supply company Energo-pro Georgia, the supply of the rest will be resumed soon.
